WHAT IS COLLEGE BOWL?College Bowl is a game of academic knowledge and quick recall. Now in its 28th year, the College Bowl campus program is a popular tradition on America's campuses. The University of Houston - Downtown is among more than 300 institutions of higher education playing College Bowl 2004. Like the popular radio and television series of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, the game features two teams of four players each competing to score points to toss-up and bonus questions. The questions cover every conceivable topic from literature, science, history, geography, religion, social sciences, multicultural topics and the arts to popular culture, sports, and current events. College Bowl is organized and administered with the cooperation of the Association of College Unions International (ACUI). Our campus program is run by the UHD College Bowl team. Competition at UHD begins with the campus tournament to select the varsity team. The Annual UHD College Bowl tournament is schedule for October 9, 2004. Prizes will be given to the winning team. Our traveling team will advance to the regional tournament scheduled for Spring, 2005
The national championship tournament, scheduled for Spring, 2005 features the 15 regional champions and a 16th wild card team. |
